Residents Join Local Elected Officials, Business Leaders For Ribbon-Cutting To Celebrate Opening At Springfield Gardens Apartments
Charlotte, NC, October 2, 2007 — The Charlotte Housing Authority and Crosland, LLC will join community residents, local elected officials, and business leaders to celebrate the grand opening of Springfield Gardens Apartments. The community’s principal developer and property manager, Crosland, LLC recently completed the 86-unit development that provides two and three-bedroom affordable apartments to income qualifying citizens of Charlotte.
This development is an off-site component of the HOPE VI Redevelopment for the Charlotte Housing Authority’s former Dalton Village project. Dalton Village was the second Charlotte Housing Authority community to receive a HOPE VI revitalization grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In addition to HOPE VI funding, the $13 million plus development combines federal and state tax credits, a City of Charlotte Housing Trust Fund loan, and Affordable Housing Program subsidies from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.
