Free Foreclosure Prevention Clinic in Washington Dec. 9-10
Eligible homeowners can apply for help from N.C. Foreclosure Prevention Fund
November 22, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Local homeowners who have lost their jobs and can’t pay their mortgage help may get help at a free foreclosure prevention clinic December 9 and 10 at the Job Link Career Center in Washington.
Qualified homeowners can apply for mortgage payment assistance from the N.C. Foreclosure Prevention Fund, offered by the N.C. Housing Finance Agency, a self-supporting state agency. The fund provides an interest-free loan of up to $36,000 to pay mortgage and other related expenses for up to 36 months while homeowners search or retrain for new employment.
To make an appointment for the foreclosure prevention clinic, homeowners should call 1-888-271-6367. More information about the N.C. Foreclosure Prevention Fund™ is available at www.NCForeclosurePrevention.gov or by calling the Fund’s call center at 1-888-623-8631.
The N.C. Housing Finance Agency has financed more than 201,000 affordable homes and apartments statewide in the last 35 years. It offers the N.C. Foreclosure Prevention Fund™ with funding from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Hardest Hit Fund™, which was authorized under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.
