Outer Banks, NC – November 21, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Outer Banks residents who are looking for a one of a kind, locally made presents for the Christmas season, Outer Banks have the perfect destination to visit. Residents who are also entertaining guests for the weekend, All Saints Holly Days Bazaar is definitely the place to be.
The 9th Annual Holly Days Bazaar will be held at Kitty Hawk’s All Saints Episcopal Church. The event started on Friday and will continue until Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 9:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.
This 9 year old bazaar is a part of the community’s outreach program in the church. The first year only had a bake table & 8 craft merchants. This year, the bazaar is a 2 day event and is composed of 35 local craft vendors that offers jewelries, arts, café’s that serve homemade delicacies, recycled jewelries, a bake table and a raffle for 2 beautifully handmade quilts.
Pam Cosgrove and Jennifer Bortnick of All Saints searched a litany of merchandise that should appeal to anyone seeking a unique gift. Among the merchandises offered in the raffle and also for sale are stained glass stepping stones, photographs, ornaments, homemade Swarovski earrings & handcrafted ducks, drake and hen. The prices of the gifts range from $1 up to $200 offered by Outer Banks well-known locals and artisans.
As for the food lovers, the food delicacies offered are equally wonderful. Homemade casseroles and soups can be bought frozen and saved for the holiday season. Prices for the 8” x 8” casseroles are usually $15 and $17 for the shrimp bisque. There are also cookies, chili, cakes, pies which are favorite foods in the bazaar. Cider and coffee is offered at the café so guests can take pleasure in the baked goodies as they shop.
Net proceeds of the sales are used to support Outer Banks’ charitable organizations of the church. In the past years, the funds were donated to Food for Thought, Outer Banks Food Pantry, Angel Tree, The Outer Banks Community Foundation, and many more.
The annual All Saints Holly Days Bazaar drew more than 400 guests last year and the organizers aim to put a bigger event every year to be able to raise more funds. There is enough parking in the back of Southern Shores Fire Station and at the church. On Saturday, patrons are also allowed to use Kitty Hawk Elementary parking lot.
