New Professional Development Program Announced by NC Division of Rural Economic Development

North Carolina Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla, III and Assistant Secretary for Rural Economic Development Dr. Patricia Mitchell have announced the creation of the Commerce Fellows/Building Community through Capacity and Knowledge program. The program, which will be offered to local governments, will be administered by the Rural Economic Development Division.

Kannapolis Begins Downtown Revitalization Planning

The Kannapolis City Council met today to begin the Downtown Revitalization planning process. Members of City Council met with the Development Financial Initiative (DFI) who outlined the process which will be used over the next year. DFI is a group of development professionals who are affiliated with the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Government to aid local governments who are working to revitalize their cities.

Governor McCrory Signs Bill to Support New Renewable Energy Projects
