WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 28, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Raleigh: Homeowners whose mortgage loan is serviced by Bank of America can get free help tomorrow through Thursday at an event in Charlotte, Attorney General Roy Cooper said Monday.

Bank of America will have specialists available to discuss possible relief options including loan modifications, repayment plans, and transition assistance.

Help will be available at the Charlotte Convention Center Tuesday, January 29 through Thursday, January 31, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Free parking is available in the NASCAR Hall of Fame Garage located at 400 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (entrance is on Brevard Street).

Homeowners experiencing difficulty on their mortgage are encouraged to pre-register either by phone at 1-855-201-7426 or online at www.bankofamerica.com/homeloanhelp. An important checklist listing all documentation required for review is also available online when homeowners register.

Among the assistance programs Bank of America has available to eligible customers are consumer relief programs created as part of a landmark national settlement that Cooper won last year with the country’s five largest mortgage loan servicers, including Bank of America, to reform mortgages and prevent foreclosures abuses. The settlement includes $300 million in help for North Carolina homeowners.
