Public Workshop to Explore Affordable Housing Creation Near Future Light Rail Transit Areas
DURHAM, N.C. – May 8, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Durham residents interested in issues regarding the finance and development of affordable housing near future light rail transit stations should mark their calendars now to attend a workshop later this month.
The Durham City-County Planning Department is hosting a public workshop on Tuesday, May 19 at 6 p.m. at the Durham Arts Council’s PSI Theater, located at 120 Morris Street. The workshop will discuss the legal framework for affordable housing incentives and requirements in North Carolina, provide information on the financing of affordable housing projects, and explore potential tools to expand affordable housing in future rail transit areas. This workshop is free and open to the public.
