Detour to Start for Green Hill Road in Blowing Rock

-

ASHEVILLE – June 9, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will block a portion of Green Hill Road in Blowing Rock starting Monday June 15.

Residents can still use the road to get to their homes, but through traffic will be detoured to the north side of the Green Park Inn, using Goforth Road and Galax Lane.

During the shutdown, workers will install storm drainage for the new, wider stretch of U.S. 321 through Blowing Rock. Once work begins on this portion of the project, the contractor will have up to 72 hours to finish, and has permission to work day and night, if necessary, to meet the deadline.

Green Hill Road is expected to re-open no later than Saturday June 20.

If weather conditions prevent crews from doing the work the week of the 15th, the closure will be postponed to Monday June 22, with the road expected to re-open by Saturday June 27.
