Congresswoman Adams Introduces Resolution To Support Ending Homelessness

Washington, DC – November 24, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today introduced a resolution which is aimed at addressing and combating homelessness in America. The resolution calls on Congress to provide adequate funding for federal affordable housing programs.

According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, on any given night, more than half a million Americans are homeless. Of those that are homeless, more than 216,000 are families. According to Doorways for Women and Families, homeless children become sick and go hungry twice as often as other children.

The resolution is cosponsored by Representatives Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Alcee Hastings (D-FL), John Conyers (D-MI), Danny Davis (D-IL), Corrine Brown (D-FL), Cedric Richmond (D-LA), Raul M. Grijalva (D-AZ), Yvette Clarke (D-NY) and Joyce Beatty (D-OH).
