NCDOT Awards $5.4M for Highway Resurfacing and Shoulder Reconstruction in Carteret County

Improving the safety of the motoring public by constantly maintaining and upgrading roads and bridges is by far the most important mission of the N.C. Department of Transportation. With this in mind, the department has awarded a $5.4 million contract to S.T. Wooten Corporation of Wilson to resurface and reconstruct shoulders on U.S. 70 between Olga Road in Beaufort and the end of U.S. 70 at the Community of Atlantic, and N.C. 12 between U.S. 70 and the Cedar Island Ferry Terminal, including the ferry ramp, in Carteret County

NC Board of Transportation Approves Transportation Plan for 1,100 Projects Over Next 10 Years

The North Carolina Board of Transportation has approved the 2016-2025 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), a 10-year transportation plan that includes nearly 1,100 projects in the state over the next decade. The highway projects alone are expected to support the creation of nearly 300,000 jobs.
