Property tax bill mailing

-

New Hanover County – August 10, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — New Hanover County property owners should expect to receive their tax bills in the coming days.

Although property taxes are due on September 1 each year, they can be paid without interest until January 6, 2016. To further assist and encourage penalty-free payments, all property tax bills will include four payment coupons. The coupons will reflect the total amount owed, divided into four equal payments. The coupons indicate a monthly due date September through December.

New Hanover County will continue to offer numerous payment options to assist taxpayers in meeting their tax obligation without incurring additional interest and fees. The New Hanover County Tax Office urges citizens to contact the office upon receipt of their tax bill if they need to make payment arrangements.

After January 6, 2016 taxes become delinquent making options for repayment much less flexible. Once taxes become delinquent, interest is added at the rate of 2 percent for the first month and 3/4 percent per month thereafter.

If you have questions about your bill or would like to make payment arrangements please contact the office at (910) 798-7300 or visit the website www.nhcgov.com.
