February 4, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Raleigh: Homeowners whose mortgage loan is serviced by Bank of America can get free help Monday through Wednesday at an event in Raleigh, Attorney General Roy Cooper said today.

Bank of America will have specialists available to discuss possible relief options including loan modifications, repayment plans, and transition assistance.

Help will be available at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel located at 1707 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh Monday, February 4 through Wednesday, February 6, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Free parking is available at the hotel.

Homeowners experiencing difficulty on their mortgage are encouraged to pre-register either by phone at 1-855-201-7426 or online at www.bankofamerica.com/homeloanhelp. An important checklist listing all documentation required for review is also available online when homeowners register.

Among the assistance programs Bank of America has available to eligible customers are consumer relief programs created as part of a landmark national settlement that Cooper won last year with the country’s five largest mortgage loan servicers, including Bank of America, to reform mortgages and prevent foreclosures abuses. The settlement includes $300 million in help for North Carolina homeowners.

Bank of America hosted a similar event to help homeowners in the Charlotte area last week.
