Hagan Announces USDA Rural Development Award for Wade Community Fire Department

Washington, DC – January 30, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senator Kay Hagan today announced that the Wade Community Fire Department will receive a low-interest loan for the purchase of a new fire truck through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program. The truck will provide dependable safety services for Wade and the surrounding areas.

“Enhancing the Wade Fire Department’s equipment will help keep residents safe,” said Hagan. “I am committed to making sure our rural communities in North Carolina have the resources they need to continue thriving.”

USDA’s Community Facilities Program provides loans and grants to enhance or develop public safety capabilities in rural communities. Projects eligible for funding assistance include hospitals, police and fire stations, and fire and rescue vehicles.
