Statewide Effort Prevents 15,000 Foreclosures; Funding Available for 6,000 More
A statewide foreclosure prevention effort has helped 15,000 North Carolinians who lost jobs start the New Year in their own homes. The N.C. Foreclosure Prevention Fund makes mortgage payments for qualified unemployed workers, including returning veterans, while they look for jobs or complete job training. Funding is still available to help another 6,000 homeowners

Governor Pat McCrory praised the character building programs of the YMCA at the Greater YMCA of Charlotte’s 20th Annual Martin Luther King Holiday Prayer Breakfast held Monday at the Charlotte Convention Center. The celebration is held in partnership with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee.
N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority Board Approves First Round of Grants
N.C. Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker and Assistant Secretary for Rural Development Dr. Pat Mitchell announced today that the N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved 18 grants totaling $11,046,399.
Governor McCrory Announces Appointments
Frankie Meads (Pasquotank County) - Meads is the general manager for Albemarle Builders Supply. He is the vice-chairman of Independent Builders Supply Association, and he is on the Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners. Meads will fill the seat designated for a county commissioner or county manager.
