N.C. Housing Finance Agency Announces Appointments to Board of Directors
October 28, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency announces four new members for its Board of Directors. Board members for the self-supporting public agency are appointed to serve two- to four-year terms by the Governor, the Speaker of the N.C. House of Representatives, and the President of the N.C. Senate. The Board elects a 13th member.
The new members are:
- Stancil Barnes, retired businessman, Tarboro;
- James E. Nance, manager, North State Acquisitions, LLC, and North State Negotiations, LLC, Albemarle;
- Tom E. Smith, broker-in-charge, Prudential Carolinas Realty, Raleigh;
- Joseph D. Crocker, director, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, Winston-Salem, Â Â elected by the board as its 13th member.
In addition, two members were reappointed: Paul S. Jaber, executive vice president, First South Bank, Rocky Mount, and James W. Oglesby, Oglesby Insurance, Asheville.
These board members join Sam Ewell, Wendell, chairman. Ewell has served as a member the Board for the past 8 years and became chairman in 2010. Also on the board are William Benton, chairman and CEO, Salem Senior Housing, Inc., Winston-Salem; Dean Carpenter, president, Carpenter’s Real Estate, Dallas; Gene Davis, Jr., attorney, Raleigh; Joe Parker, retired mortgage professional, Durham; John White, general manager, White Realty & Construction, Nags Head; and Charles Worth, private businessman, Manson.
The 13-member Board of Directors oversees the operations of the N.C. Housing Finance Agency, which has financed 201,000 homes and apartments in the last three decades, including nearly 84,000 homes for first-time home buyers.
